Ryanair may open bases in Morocco





Following Ryanair's dispute with the Moroccan airport authority ONDA over handling charges and its declaration that it was cutting back on routes, it may now be setting up two bases in Morocco in Marrakech and Fes.

According to the Irish Independent newspaper Ryanair will operate flights from both cities while storing the planes used on site. Previously the airline used aircraft which flew from different UK and European locations. Whilst there are no direct flights from Ireland to Morocco, this may change the Irish Independent writes. Ryanair have made two bids for theirishcarrier Air Lingus which so far have been rejected on EU competition grounds.

Ryanair refused to comment on whatit charaterised as rumour and speculation.
