The opening of the 20th edition of the computer, office and multimedia "SIB Sfax 2012" is marked by the launch of the 3G version of the Tunisian touch pad, after the release of version 5.

The touch pad was produced by the Tunisian company ARTS (which stands for Apres la Revolution Tunisienne) which specializes in the electronics industry which was created after the revolution of January 14, in the resort of El Ghraba (Governorate of Sfax) and employing 12 people, who are engineers and higher technicians.
This group of young Tunisians are the first to have launched on the local market a new PC tablet. Marketed under the name ARTS T216, this tablet was the brainchild of a group of four engineers: Chiheb Bouattour, Moez Affes, Kais and Osama Ellajmi Makni. They launched their startup at the assembly plant based in Sfax. The 3G version will go on sale in May at a price of 649 dinars.
Launched in 1992 the SIB Information and Technology Show begins its 21st session hosted by the Association for Sfax International Fairs, this event is being held from 11 to 14 April 2012 at the fairground of the fair site.
SIB Sfax 2012, expects increased vistor numbers compared with 2010 and around 70,000 visitors.
The exhibition will include the usual equipment and computer accessories, telecommunications, Internet service providers, software, graphics, image and sound, checkpoint, alarm, cutting plotter and large format printing.
Besides exhibiting software recently launched on the market, professionals and individuals will find the show a range of new products and services using ICT, available at special SIB discounted show prices the organisers say.
