The "Sbeiba" is a Tuareg festival which,celebrates an ancient a peace pact between the tribes of the region. The inhabitants of the town of Djanet, in the ilaya of Illizi celebrate "Sbeiba",annually during Ashura drawing its origin in the ancient history of the Tassili Tuareg tribes of the Ajjers. The festival lasts for ten days

The dancers wear a dress called "Takamest" and "Tamba"sandals and carry a sword in one hand and in the other a scarf. The Women play drums with "Ganga" rhythms and the warriors accompany the dancers singing the "Tissiouan", a traditional song.

Then the wisemen intervene to stop the war . The two tribes parade and eventually, after much haggling, the renew the peace pact signed by their ancestors.
