The meeting with Francois Hollande on Wednesday at the Elysee, will also focus on the crisis in Mali. For several months, Idriss Deby has vacillated over the participation of the Chadian army in a possible military intervention in northern Mali. The discussions may be complicated by the Ibni case and the aftermath of the Arch of Zoe case, according to AFP.
ECOWAS leaders would also like to include Chadian troops, believing that the force consisting of 5,000 Malian soldiers and 3,300 ECOWAS troops will be sufficient to reconquer the North.
