The European Parliament (EP) should get more involved to find a just solution to the Sahara issue in consultation with the parties concerned, Austrian Euro-deputy Hannes Swoboda, head of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats at the EP, said.

This came following a meeting, on Monday in Rabat, with head of government Abdelilah Benkirane, MAP reported.
"It is useless to enter into negotiations without Morocco, the EP should contribute to improving dialogue between the parties concerned," he added, hailing efforts made by Morocco to solve this problem.
Benkirane said that the talks touched on major issues mainly the fight against corruption which is crucial to the Moroccan government and the Europeans who intend to invest in the Kingdom.
The two parties discussed the situation in the Maghreb and issues of shared interest.
